Color: Yellow to maroon
Plant height: 1-4 feet tall
Bloom time: long blooming, mid to late summer
Native habitat: Moist riverbanks to fairly dry plains

This annual self seeds profusely and provides long lasting color when the initial flush of early summer begins to fade. Grown in full sun and kept moist they will bloom profusely. They tend to get leggy in other situations.

This plant is included on the plant list Lewis and Clark created on their Expedition.
